Tracey Emin reveals cancer diagnosis and stoma operation
Artist says she has 'reached a big, big milestone'
Emin, 57, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020
Tracey Emin has revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer and had a stoma operation earlier this year.
In a new interview with the BBC, the British artist said that she has "reached a big, big milestone" in her recovery.
Emin, 57, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2020 and underwent major surgery.
She said that the experience has made her "more accepting of death".
"I'm not afraid of dying," she said. "I'm not afraid of the end."
Emin is one of the most celebrated British artists of her generation.
She is known for her confessional and often provocative work, which often explores themes of sex, love, and loss.
Emin was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours for services to British art.
