Jokic, Murray Lead the Way for Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets took a 1-0 lead in their Western Conference first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 118-109 victory in Game 1 on Sunday night.
Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets with 32 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists, while Jamal Murray added 26 points and 6 assists. Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 29 points and 13 rebounds, while Anthony Edwards added 26 points.
The Nuggets were in control of the game from the start, leading by as many as 18 points in the first half. The Timberwolves cut the lead to 5 points in the third quarter, but the Nuggets responded with a 10-0 run to take control of the game again.
The Nuggets will host Game 2 on Tuesday night at Ball Arena. The Timberwolves will need to win Game 2 to tie the series and avoid going down 0-2.
